Error in identifying computer
-3087 indicates that the Hard Drive Serial Number check was enabled when the library was created, but the library is unable to determine the hard drive serial number.
Since they don't have hard drives, this can occur for virtual machines or containers if the virtualization vendor doesn't provide a method to set a hard drive serial number. It can also happen if the library is unable to gather the background information necessary to continue with Hard Drive Serial Number detection.
Solution
If you are using virtual machines, consult the hypervisor manual as to how to ensure a HDSN exists. If that is not possible, in addition to enabling a HDSN check, also enable 'Continue if HDSN unobtainable', which will allow continuation on virtual machines, containers, and/or LVM only file system environments where there is no HDSN present, or where the library is unable to gather background information required for HDSN detection. It will not allow continuation if a system call to read a HDSN times out (rare), instead it will return an error.
Alternatively, on the "integration" page (where you download your libraries), turn off 'HardDisk Serial number check' during library creation.
For the average user and system there will be no difference in security, as the "hard drive serial number" option is largely intended to distinguish between multiple enterprise systems created from a single disk image.
